Weave Season

So yes, I done got me some weave ya'll! After I damaged my hair, I was over it. I was not feeling my low cut ceasar at all. Plus, I have been wanting to do this hair style FOREVER. Inpsired by M.I.A., The Olsen twins, & Karla Deras. I'm mad with myself for not adding color but next installation will have blonde in it. I'm really excited about that. Next, I want to do really big curly hair! It's weave season! 

So, I received this shirt from sammydress.com that I'm in absolute LOVE with. It's the CUTEST ever, with the lips and all. I've already worn it 4 times in the past two weeks. I love that it has black and white stripes (my fav.) and a pop of color! And as you may notice, I'm wearing a hat. Something you will never see me wearing with my short hair. Sadly, my head is way to small for hats unless they are for children. So you will definitely be seeing me in more hats in the near future.

The printed denim button down is making it's reappearance. What I'm really excited about are these heels! Every time I wear them the more in love I fall. They look amazing with EVERYTHING! Moving on, my birthday is in July so I've been making plans after plans after plans. I NEVER do anything for my birthday. Each and every year it's pretty whack. This year will be different! I'm turning 22 and I will treat it as my 21st, which sucked! I already have tickets to see Beyonce, and I'm planning a cruise and a Vegas trip! Time to turn up. 

I have to keep myself pretty busy to drown out the depressing feeling of not being where I want to be in life. Biggest lesson I learned so far is that you CAN NOT plan your life. You literally have to just go with the flow...

I'm only what you make me baby...

I've been dressing SO trendy lately. So boring. I'm just shopping so much right now and that's all I buy. When I moved from Florida to DC I left all of my clothes there. That means I have no classic, basic pieces. I have none of my unique thrifted clothes, and none of the awesome shoes I collected over time. So trendy pieces it is! I purposely tool a trip to New York just to get this top. Smh. I saw it during my first visit and I just had to have it, so I went back and got it. 

My top is from Topshop, which is an AMAZING store. I'm so in love with it! I'm wearing boyfriend shorts from H&M and H&M mesh booties.

I've been sick all week. My head felt like it was going to explode when I took these. I'm feeling better now. I just lost the taste in my mouth. Very annoying! It's been 6 days without taste!! Anyway, I'm adding these new H&M pants to my favorites list. I love the fit, LOVE the print. They're amazing. 

It was so very hard to get a good shot in this outfit for some reason. It was the lighting! Everywhere I went it sucked. That really sucks. This lens is actually starting to piss me off. I'm having problem after problem with it. Like, does it even work?! I wanted to get the perfect capture of these pants. I'm wearing them with a long sleeve crop top from topshop.

...a tiny crack in my armor

Self-esteem is such a hard thing to maintain. Sometimes it only takes one person, one comment, or one small event to happen for me to feel like shit all day or week! Even though I'm not that insecure, I'm actually quite confident, it's still something that takes work. At least for me it does. At one point I was super insecure with fake confidence, a state I NEVER want to revisit. So, I always make sure to surround myself with genuinely positive people. So many people try to bring you down in order to lift themselves up (happens to me nearly every day). Poor souls. And I'm not just talking about being insecure about how I look. Sometimes I feel insecure about who I am in general. The most important, simple advice that I've learned always helps me with that: Be yourself.  

I don't know why I love the most unflattering clothes! If something fits a little weird I think to myself, "Boom! I'm doing it!!". I'm actually wearing pajamas I think. I got these AWESOME polka dot shorts from the men's lounge wear section at H&M, of course. I'm wearing them with an American Apparel crop top and white heels from Urbanog. 

Oh! Almost forgot to mention that I did something totally stupid with my hair! I damaged it completely and had to cut it all off! Very upset about this new hair cut because I'm just over wearing it like this. I was really loving my pixie and I'm very sad to see it go. To make matters worse my head shape looks totally funny. As many times as I wore my hair like this, it's the first time I think it looks stupid and weird. -___-
